High Temperature Sensors

High Temperature Sensors can be both inductive sensors and capacitive sensors. The decisive feature: they can be used at very high temperatures.

An inductive sensor creates an electromagnetic field and reacts to its change. It consists of an oscillator, a connected evaluation unit and an output stage. The oscillator creates a magnetic field directed in a specific direction. When a piece of metal approaches, the magnetic field changes. The sensor then outputs a signal. The disadvantage: inductive switches only react to metallic materials. Therefore, the sensor can only be used in certain areas.

A capacitive sensor, on the other hand, works like a capacitor. The sensor works with an electric field. When the capacity changes, he reacts. The object does not have to conduct electricity. The capacitive sensor can even detect liquids, as well as granular or powdered substances. For example plastics, wood, stone, water or even cement.
