Fibre optics and amplifiers
Fiber optic cables are primarily used in applications with limited space and harsh environmental conditions. A wide variety of fiber optic cables with different probe heads are available.
Dietz fiber optic cables are characterized by their exceptional flexibility, very high temperature resistance up to 200 °C, and high power reserves. Versions with glass or plastic fibers are available, each optionally for use with either one-way or push-button operation. The light is guided to the point of use and back to the receiver via two optically separated fiber optic sections (transmitter/receiver).
The outer diameter of the fiber bundles starts at 1 mm. The light exit sleeves are generally made of metal and are available with or without metric threads. This allows for simple and quick installation by screwing or clamping.
The fiber optic light guides are equipped with an M18 adapter for connection to an amplifier (standard OLK… series) and are available in total lengths starting at 30 cm. The versions with plastic fibers are used with suitable amplifiers (e.g., WLL series for profile rail mounting or S50-…-E01, cylindrical with thread) and can be cut to any desired length using appropriate cutting tools.

Functionality
- One-way principle:
- Functionality according to the principle of one-way light barriers. Two separate probe heads act as transmitters or receivers. The range depends on the amplifier used.
- Button principle:
- Functionality according to the principle of the reflective light buttons. The transmitter and receiver are combined as separate fiber bundles in a light guide. The sensing range depends on the amplifier used.
